G'day all, Iv'e pegged my camp in Kal as a SPL to ensure my status in an ever changing world.
Many 'visitors' later, nothing has changed. I'm still living on the fringe and nothing less than a passport gives veracity.
We sure are in trouble.

Any more earthquakes?
Hope you stay cool as the weather warms.
I'll be in WA myself a year from now.

G'day Chris. We get quite a few in the 2.2 ~ 2.8 range there was one of these not far from my camp. I heard and felt it but it's hard to be sure as pit firing is a regular occurannce from two main mines within 30 km; Kanowna and the Super Pit. Both are within audible range here.
Did you get to aussie and if so, did you post a 'report' somewhere?

Greetings Daza:
My trip to WA is in 2011 - next year. I am looking forward to it very much. I promise I'll do a detailed report, but it wont be for a while. Still not sure what part of WA I will be traveling through next year, but we will decide here in the coming months so that plans can be made.....
I went out and staked (US equivalent term for pegged) one of my favorite prospecting spots near home. I did it because so much land is being taken up, and I dont want some guy to tell me to get off because its his claim now. Gold prices are going higher, interest in prospecting is getting greater, More and more prospectors are heading out in the field every day. I was prospecting here in the US in the early 1980s, and every bit of ground worth having was taken up. I pegged my spot in self-defence. Its a big area (160 acres) and will keep me busy for a good while.
Regards,
Chris

Hi Don, Garimpo, the amount of "Native Title" BS is offensive and unnecessary, but remains a big part of any 'modern' mining claim in Western Australia.
I am going to rejoin the majority; go where I like, when I like and tell nobody until I'm through. About the first thing you need to understand in dealing with Native Title and heritage is: it is all about money, it's all about money, it's all about money; they give their Bank Details on official forms before they want to know what it is that you intend to do.
Us old blokes, that want a peaceful camp and retirement hobby, must enter into agreements that cost a heap and give no assurance for tenure. I would expect nothing more than that if I was on their side of the fence. . . a fence that divides us as a Nation unfortunetely.
It matters nothing to me as I will continue to live here as i have for the last seven years. The Gov just wants to cover their ass and reap revenue for permissions.
There's few old blokes in the bush now. They mostly have quit and that is a real shame.
I've been reading your site but haven't had much to add to your great pix posts so, I will continue but things are not happening for me until I clean up some of the rubbish that burdens my mind just now.
I happy though. ;D ;D ;D

Hi Daza,
Good to see you have staked your claim. Could possibly be in your area next year as planning a big prospecting trip over a 3month period with Jon who logs on here from time to time so if you are in camp when we come by have the billy on. All the best for Christmas mate!! ;D ;D
Cheers

No Ted, I have not done much detecting in that area. Prospecting, yes, but not with a detector. I bought a salt coil last year and intend to try the lakes again this year. The area is quite large and a few photographs can be see via "johnm" posts. . . who seems to have vanished. Try Janets site. www.janetsgoldnuggets.com/photos.htmwww.janetsgoldnuggets.com/stories%20page2.htmI like that area too. I'm not just targeting gold, crystals and preety rocks are also of interest. cya daza

Hi Dazza,
Have been in contact with Janet through another party previously & she has apparently deleted all her info on the area that she originally had from Johnc on the Finders Forum. Just thought you may have had a few from there. Anyhow will be going out there come next year so may pop in & see you on the way out. Any chance of PM'ing me of your camp position (GPS Cords)?
Cheers

Sorry to have missed your post Ted. I received several requests by PM relating to spots around here but declined as I haven't detected those areas. . . just a few drive-throughs.
I spent the last 6-months of the year 2009 in and out of Perth with a finale of major surgery before another 6-months on a station in recovery. It cost me over 12-months of uncertainty and quite a lot of $$$ to get well.
I am doing much with my sites just now as I've said before, I live out bush and simply do not have the time or the acces to spend updating even though I would like to.
I appolagise if I have not responded in reasonable time. Time seems to be very short for me with rebuilding my camp and making do.
What are you up to most recently?

Hi Daza, Glad to see you back on line again & in good health. Spent most of the prospecting season up around Sandstone,Leonora & Laverton getting rained in a few times.. Found a bit of colour to keep me still interested. Looking further north this year Leinster, Gascoyne & Murchison regions if the weather is more kinder.
Cheers

This post slipped by Ted. I have had a few healyh problems that's kept me grounded for almost a year. No changes. . . I'm on a surgical 'list' that my doctor tells me is at least twelve months long. Meanwhile, I live on pills.
My camp is Kanowna way. Give me a call when you are next in the area: 0*40*1 76$0 7@09. I do not invite many out here so keep the number for yourself.
Some friends are currently up north for several months. They are as interested in old things and camps as the glean of gold. They are a bit too flash for thr likes of me though.
I wish you well and hope you enjoy your trip.
